In pursuance of the powers conferred on me by the Trading with the Enemy Proclamation No.2 dated the 9th September, 1914, (as amended by the Proclamation of His Majesty the King-in-Council dated the 8th October, 1914), and by the Trading with the Enemy Ordinance, 1914, the Alien Enemies (Winding up) Ordinance, 1914, the Alien Enemies (Wind- ing up) Amendment Ordinance, 1914, and all other powers there- to me enabling, 1, SIR FRANCIS HENRY MAY, K.C.M.G., Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same hereby license BERTHOLD REIF a British subject resident in the United Kingdom and a partner in the firm of Bume & Reif of Bradford, York- shire, to carry on the business of the said firm in the said Colony as fully and freely as if no partner were resident in enemy territory subject to the conditions following: -

(1). No goods or moneys or assets of the said business

shall be remitted, directly or indirectly, to or for the benefit of any person in enemy country; (2). No goods, wares or merchandize shall be obtained directly or indirectly, from any person in enemy

country;

(3). Each and all of the prohibitions contained in para- graph 5 of the said Proclamation of the 9th Septem- ber, 1914, as amended by any subsequent Proclamation

shall be duly observed;

(4). The books and documents of the said business shall
